What a rewire in Edmonton involves
You may have heard that rewires are messy and dusty jobs. It is true that a complete rewire is a big job and is invasive, so some redecorating work will need to be done afterwards, but every house is different and we will always clean up after ourselves. We will also complete any redecorating work for you, if you wish, so you do not need to worry.
Always get three quotes from recommended Part P electricians. We can come to your property and complete a visual survey, or might recommend we conduct a more thorough Electrical Installation Condition Report to ascertain the extent of the work that will need to be completed to bring your property’s electrics up to date. Read our blog on how much a rewire costs.
It is an ideal time to design a new installation and to work out what you want, in terms of fitting enough electrical outlets for now and in the future and updated fixtures and fittings.
All rewiring projects will include:
- Lifting or removing lino or carpets
- Lifting floorboards to run electric cabling or reroute existing cables
- Cutting channels into the walls for cables, known as ‘chasing’
We can complete a rewire while you are living in the property and will ensure you have power at the end of every working day. Alternatively, we can do the job while the property is vacant.
